Every year, there are some trends that look like they will stay around the whole year. Here are three trends that I, personally, will be avoiding for the start of the new decade!
Bermuda shorts: I’m on the petite size. And cutting off my leg line by having shorts that end at my knee is, I find, not flattering for my body type. If you have thin, long legs, this trend might be amazing for you – but I can promise it won’t be for me at the start of this new decade.
Visible “bras”: I put bra in quotes because most of these bras or more decorative than supportive. I am on the bustier side, and any of you bustier ladies that visit here can probably empathize the need for some structural support throughout the day. Any time I leave the house and/or am rather active, you best believe that I will be wearing a bra with some substance!
“Eco-conscious”: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a large number of “eco-conscious” lines are MISLEADING (and that’s putting it nicely). If you do decide to shop from “green” fashion lines and stores, make sure you check the guidelines or ethics page to find out what a store deems an “eco-conscious” item. Instead of shopping the “eco” fashion lines from stores like H&M, Forever 21, and other fast fashion companies, take a trip to your local thrift store. As a general rule, items from thrift stores are better quality brands for equal or lesser prices than a fast fashion store.
I hope your year has gotten off to a great start! As always, feel free to shoot me a message, feedback, or pics of your own outfit inspiration!
