The first piece to update my wardrobe this summer is this black skirt from Asos. With a flattering silhouette, a tie belt, and pockets – this skirt is everything I could want!
One of the best features of this skirt is the tie belt. The fabric belt is not sewn onto the skirt, so you can remove it. Since it also has belt loops, you are easily able to replace it with one of your existing belts!
In trying out a few preliminary pairings (AKA racing to try on new cute clothes), this is a skirt that works great in both casual and slightly dressy situations. I am also happy to report that the skirt is NOT see though, but remains lightweight and breezy. I do also think that it could hide a small “food baby” if you wanted to wear this skirt out to lunch or dinner in the future. (Right now, be safe!) Looking forward, I think this skirt could certainly prove to be a wardrobe staple in my closet!
Fit wise, it should be noted that at 5’2″, this skirt hits a few inches above the knee when I wear it high-waisted. If you would want to wear it high-waisted, I don’t think I would recommend this skirt for someone with long legs. The length would obviously change when wearing it lower.
Stay tuned for next week, where I will post two ways that I would style this skirt. In the mean time, stay happy and healthy!
